Got off my ass and did some work today. Happy days eh? I have finally decided the amp I will build. The amp is the Fender Bassman 1959 5F6A design. Its one of the best Bassmans ever designed, and remains to this day the top one (mainly because they havent built one since....except that new one which was a copy).
So its going to be the Bassman. I would really love some feedback from some electronics lovers on the best way to approach this, and would any electronics heads in the UK or Ireland know the best place to get components??
I have already got my hands on a chassis to bulid on, i'm really looking forward to getting into this build!

So its been awhile, I'v been off working on my projects and assignments. When I started this blog I was still kind of new to final year life...and now I have been shown what I am meant to be doing. Jesus!!! The amount of work we have to do is unreal, but I REALLY REALLY want this degree!!!! So I am going to work my balls off and get this degree.
So....what can I say? I'v started to order the parts for my project, all the small ones I need, like resistors, capacitors and vero board. I'v had a small dilemma relating to vero Board actually. Many amp purists would insist on me using perf board to build the circuit, but I have decided to use vero board. If anybody reading this knows anything about amp technology from the 60's, 70's and 80's has an opinion, I would be really thankful for some advice.
Moving on anyway, I'm working away on other college assignments. The most notable of such is a video assignment we were given in class, in this assignment we got a black and white silent film and told to add a full audio track. I'm going to add the video and let whoever reads this comment on it and let me know what kind of grade to expect!
So, 4 months left in my final year of college. How do I feel about this?? Well, right now i'm pretty excited! I'l be finished college. Finally able to go off and work and make some proper cash (oh wait...no...Ireland is fucked ya? So theres none of that) but really, i'l be finally able to go and get a full time position. But there is the other side of things, I'l be finished what could be described as the best time of my life, I have loved college. Its been stressful at times, but most of the time, I have had a lot of fun and good times and made some good friends.
Ah sure, this summer will be awesome. Going to start a band aswell....got to have some way to test this amp i'm building eh?!
